Kale Chips - A quick, easy and healthy snack!
As I’ve started my 3 month vegan challenge I have noticed that I have become more hyper-aware of what I put in my mouth. Yes, in just matter of a day +/-! I’m not a huge snacker, but when the craving hits to eat something I want to be able to have something readily available.
I’ve heard lots of talk about kale chips, so if you know me…I decided to give it a try!
Kale chips take little to no time to prepare:
Preheat the oven at 350.
All you need is a bushel of kale leaves. I wasn’t sure how many chips they would make so I grabbed 1 bushel and called it a day. You are welcomed to get more of course :-)
Clean the leaves, shake off the excess water, remove the stem (at least I do), rip the leaves up into pieces you think would be convenient for snacking, place them on a cookie sheet, add a little olive oil, add sea salt, garlic, and cayenne (or whatever seasoning you would like to use). Bake the leaves for 10-15 minutes or until you get the consistency you would like. I like them on the side of extra crunchy, so I left them in a little longer. There you have it, a quick and easy snack for the whole family!
…even my 10 year old LOVES these things!
Enjoy and Live Simplistically and Healthy!
