Of late, I’ve heard a lot of talk on oil cleansing. It just didn’t make sense to me, but after watching ‘Hey Fran Hey’s’ video seen here and speaking with a close friend on this process, I decided to give it a try and share with you!
Here are the items you will need:
Organic virgin coconut oil, witch hazel or Hydrogen peroxide (I used the peroxide), cotton balls, tea tree oil (optional), large pot (unless you have a facial steamer)
1. While your pot of hot water is boiling, slather about 4 layers of coconut oil on your face, and then steam face with oil still on for 15 min (cover you head with a towel). If you decide to use tea tree oil, add about 3 drops of the oil to your boiling water that you’re steaming your face over.
2. After you have steamed for 15 min, use the cotton ball dipped with witch hazel or hydrogen peroxide and wipe off of the oil. I did this twice. Once done, wipe . the remaining oil off with a hot wash cloth.
3. Apply 2 more layers of the coconut oil to skin, really working the oil into the skin using circular motions and repeat the process of wiping the oil off with a hot wash cloth.
4. Repeat step #3 twice, splash your face with cold water 4 times, and finish with a cold press on your face to lock in the moisture of the coconut oil and to tighten your pores. Blot with a towel and then you are done!
A quick, easy, and inexpensive way of cleansing! This may feel different to you, but instead of having that stripped feeling after using commercial products, you will notice your skin feeling cleansed and dewy. It definitely takes some getting use to. Feel free to let me know how the oil cleansing method worked for you.
