Happy Friday Folks, and welcome to my world of another FAILED hair style.  I attempted to do a double-strand twist, which I have recently grown to love.  FINALLY my hair cooperates, or does it?  As I am getting to know my hair, (learning what works and what does not) I am realizing the prepping for certain styles is what will ‘make or break’ its success. *sigh*
Honestly, I wasn’t too disappointed with the way my hair turned out today.  I could actually go outside AND go to work!  Double bonus minus the embarrassment.  I did however, realize what I did wrong in my styling.  For any styling of my hair that requires some stretching such as bantu knots and double strand twists, I cannot start with wet hair.  Seems like common knowledge huh?  My hair has to be dry, otherwise I will still walk away with curls.  Today, serendipity stepped in and I was left rocking the Curly Fro!  What the?  Yep, I never heard of it either until I ran across Napturl85’s video which can be seen here.  This video actually gave me a better understanding why double-strand twists were not working…wet hair, wet hair, wet hair!
What I did do, which isn’t quite pictured here, is pin the left side up and have the bangs and right side flow free.  There is a TON of shrinkage but I don’t care and I refuse to mess with my hair anymore out of fear of the big ‘F’ word, fRiZz!
Well there you have it, a failed mission that actually became somewhat doable!
If the first time you don’t succeed, stop using water on your hair! :-)
NOTE: As I am sure you are aware the lighting is different but the pictures on top give a better sense of the shine and curl definition.
