This afternoon I had the pleasure of eating, chatting and snapping photos with some of Chicago’s very own bloggers. Anna of Bellaconsience and Zuri of Fried Caviar. There is nothing like spending time with people who don’t look at you crazy for taking pictures of anything and everything. Zuri, our in-house food blogger suggested we check out GT Fish & Oyster for brunch in River North, so because we entrust our taste buds to Zuri, we did!
Everything on the menu sounded way too good to make a decision. Even on the kid’s menu listing their Fried Pickles as one of the choices, to the adult fare brunch menu listing Fried Chicken and Waffles, Smoked Whitefish Quiche to Biscuits in Lobster gravy. Bloody Marys and Mimosas were also available on the menu, but I opted for the coffee to wake-up. The nautical theme was expected, but overall I enjoyed the simplicity of the place filled with great lighting, minimalistic wall hangings, a glass entry way, and matches (I collect matches from all of the places I dine so I SCORED!). Our afternoon ended with an impromptu photoshoot for Anna and her blog. Photos will be posted later.
I would suggest a visit to this spot. There are so many great places in Chicago I haven’t tried.
I score this place, 5 forks out 5! However, if you like large portions you might want to order a side for brunch…NOT for the Hungry Jack type. :-)
